Enter any two integers into the LCD calculator. The calculator will display the lowest common denominator between the two numbers.

LCD Formula

The following description is the formula for the lowest common denominator.

-The lowest number in which a group of fractions can be all be divided by, and the corresponding values still be whole fractions.

Examples

Let’s take a look at an example of how to calculate the lowest common denominator also known as the least common denominator or least common divisor.

Say we have two integers 1/10 and 1/12, we need to find the lowest integer that these denominators can be represented by. First, we look at the LCM of 10 and 12 and find it to be 6.

Next, we need to convert the fractions to their equivalent LCD.

This yields 6/60 and 5/60 respectively.
