## Cycling Energy Formula

The following equation is used to calculate the Cycling Energy.

E = P * T *60

Variables:

• Where E is the Cycling Energy (Joules, J)
• P is the average cycling power output (watts)
• T is the total cycling time (min)

To calculate the cycling energy, multiply the cycling power by the time in minutes, then multiply again by 60.

## How to Calculate Cycling Energy?

The following two example problems outline the steps and information needed in order to calculate the Cycling Energy.

Example Problem #1:

1. First, determine the average cycling power output (watts). In this example, the average cycling power output (watts) is measured to be 57.
2. Next, determine the total cycling time (min). For this problem, the total cycling time (min) is calculated to be 120.
3. Finally, calculate the Cycling Energy using the formula above:

E = P * T *60

Inserting the values from above and solving the equation with the imputed values gives:

E = 57 * 120 *60 = 410,400 (Joules, J)

Example Problem #2:

Using the same process as example problem 1, we first define the needed variables outlined by the formula. In this case, the values are provide as:

total cycling time (min) = 30
