Enter the number of samples produced by a full STR and the total number of samples processed into the Extraction Efficiency Calculator. The calculator will evaluate the Extraction Efficiency.

Extraction Efficiency Formula

The following two example problems outline the steps and information needed to calculate the Extraction Efficiency.

EE = STR / SP *100

Variables:

  • EE is the Extraction Efficiency (%)
  • STR is the number of samples produced by a full STR
  • SP is the total number of samples processed

To calculate the extraction efficiency, divide the number of samples produced by a full STR by the total number of samples processed, then multiply by 100.

How to Calculate Extraction Efficiency?

The following steps outline how to calculate the Extraction Efficiency.

  1. First, determine the number of samples produced by a full STR.
  2. Next, determine the total number of samples processed.
  3. Next, gather the formula from above = EE = #STR / #SP *100.
  4. Finally, calculate the Extraction Efficiency.
  5. After inserting the variables and calculating the result, check your answer with the calculator above.

Example Problem :

Use the following variables as an example problem to test your knowledge.

number of samples produced by a full STR = 500

total number of samples processed = 600

EE = #STR / #SP *100 = ?
