## Generator Efficiency Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Generator Efficiency.

Egen = O / (O+L) * 100

- Where Egen is the Generator Efficiency (%)
- O is the generator output (power)
- L is the generator losses (power)

To calculate the generator efficiency, divide the generator output by the sum of the output and the losses, then multiply by 100.

## How to Calculate Generator Efficiency?

The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Generator Efficiency.

- Next, determine the generator losses (power). For this problem, the generator losses (power) is given as 2.
- Finally, calculate the Generator Efficiency using the equation above:
