Generator Voltage Formula
The following formula is used to calculate the Generator Voltage.
Vg = GP / GC
Variables:
- Where Vg is the Generator Voltage (volts)
- GP is the generator power consumption (watts)
- GC is the generator electrical current (amps)
How to Calculate Generator Voltage?
The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Generator Voltage.
Example Problem #1:
- First, determine the generator power consumption (watts). In this example, the generator power consumption (watts) is measured to be 3.
- Next, determine the generator electrical current (amps). For this problem, the generator electrical current (amps) is calculated to be 9.
- Finally, calculate the Generator Voltage using the formula above:
Vg = GP / GC
Inserting the values from above and solving the equation with the imputed values gives:
Vg = 3/ 9 = .333 (volts)
Example Problem #2:
Using the same process as example problem 1, we first define the variables outlined by the formula. In this case, the values are:
generator power consumption (watts) = 1
generator electrical current (amps) = 10
Entering these values into the formula or calculator above gives us::
Vg = 1 / 10 = .10 (volts)
