Enter the rated inverter power (watts) and the efficiency (%) into the calculator to determine the Inverter Power.

Inverter Power Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Inverter Power.

Pi = RP * E/100
  • Where Pi is the Inverter Power (watts)
  • RP is the rated inverter power (watts)
  • E is the efficiency (%)

To calculate the inverter power, multiply the rated power by the efficiency.

How to Calculate Inverter Power?

The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Inverter Power.

Example Problem #1:

  1. First, determine the rated inverter power (watts). In this example, the rated inverter power (watts) is measured to be 89.
  2. Next, determine the efficiency (%). For this problem, the efficiency (%) is calculated to be 60.
  3. Finally, calculate the Inverter Power using the formula above:

Pi = RP * E/100

Inserting the values from above and solving the equation with the imputed values gives:

Pi = 89* 60/100 = 53.4 (watts)

Example Problem #2:

Using the same process as example problem 1, we first define the variables outlined by the formula. In this case, the values are:

rated inverter power (watts) = 5

efficiency (%) = 2

Entering these values into the formula or calculator above gives us::

Pi = 5 * 2/100 = .10 (watts)
