Enter the maximum item/pallet load (lbs), the number of loads per beam, and the number of beams per stack into the Pallet Racking Capacity Calculator. The calculator will evaluate the Pallet Racking Capacity.

Pallet Racking Capacity Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Pallet Racking Capacity.

PRC = ML * LPB * B

Variables:

  • PRC is the Pallet Racking Capacity (lbs)
  • ML is the maximum item/pallet load (lbs)
  • #LPB is the number of loads per beam
  • #B is the number of beams per stack

To calculate the pallet racking capacity, multiply the maximum item load by the number of loads per beam then again by the number of beams per stack.

How to Calculate Pallet Racking Capacity?

The following steps outline how to calculate the Pallet Racking Capacity.

  1. First, determine the maximum item/pallet load (lbs).
  2. Next, determine the number of loads per beam.
  3. Next, determine the number of beams per stack.
  4. Next, gather the formula from above = PRC = ML * #LPB * #B.
  5. Finally, calculate the Pallet Racking Capacity.
  6. After inserting the variables and calculating the result, check your answer with the calculator above.

Example Problem:

Use the following variables as an example problem to test your knowledge.

maximum item/pallet load (lbs) = 500

number of loads per beam = 3

number of beams per stack = 2

PRC = ML * #LPB * #B =  ?
