Enter the static pressure (Pa) and the dynamic pressure (Pa) into the calculator to determine the Ram Air Pressure.

Ram Air Pressure Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Ram Air Pressure.

Pram = SP + DP
  • Where Pram is the Ram Air Pressure (Pa)
  • SP is the static pressure (Pa)
  • DP is the dynamic pressure (Pa)

To calculate the ram air pressure, sum the static pressure and dynamic pressure.

How to Calculate Ram Air Pressure?

The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Ram Air Pressure.

Example Problem #1:

  1. First, determine the static pressure (Pa). In this example, the static pressure (Pa) is given as 15.
  2. Next, determine the dynamic pressure (Pa). For this problem, the dynamic pressure (Pa) is given as 6.
  3. Finally, calculate the Ram Air Pressure using the equation above:

Pram = SP + DP

Inserting the values from above and solving the equation:

Pram = 15 + 6 = 21 (Pa)

Example Problem #2:

Using the same process as above, first define the variables required by the formula. In this case, these values are:

static pressure (Pa) = 32

dynamic pressure (Pa) = 10

Entering these values yields:

Pram = 32 + 10 = 42 (Pa)
