FAQ Section
What does a negative business growth percentage mean?
A negative growth percentage means revenue decreased from the initial period to the final period. For example, if revenue falls from $200,000 to $160,000, the growth percentage is -20%.
Can initial revenue be zero?
No. The growth percentage formula divides by initial revenue, so initial revenue cannot be zero. If a business had no revenue in the starting period, percentage growth is not defined in the usual way.
Is growth percentage the same as profit percentage?
No. Growth percentage usually compares revenue between two periods. Profit percentage depends on costs and profit, not just revenue. A business can have strong revenue growth while profit stays flat or decreases if costs rise too much.
