Enter the total number of tickets in the drawing (typically the number of tickets sold/issued) and the number of tickets you own into the calculator to estimate your raffle odds. Use Basic Odds for a single winning ticket (one prize) and Multiple Prizes when more than one winning ticket is drawn.

Raffle Ticket Winning Chance Formula
The following formula is used to calculate the chance of winning when exactly one winning ticket is drawn (a single-prize / single-winner raffle).
\text{Chance of Winning (\%)}=\left(\frac{\text{Tickets Purchased}}{\text{Total Tickets}}\right)\times 100Variables:
- Total Tickets is the total number of tickets in the drawing (typically the total number of tickets sold/issued).
- Tickets Purchased is the number of tickets you have bought (the number you own).
To calculate your chance of winning a single-prize raffle, divide the number of tickets you own by the total number of tickets in the drawing and then multiply by 100 to get a percentage. If multiple prizes are drawn, the chance of winning at least one prize depends on how many winning tickets are drawn and whether winning tickets are removed; use the Multiple Prizes tab in the calculator above.
What is a Raffle?
A raffle is a type of contest where people purchase numbered tickets, and one or more winning ticket numbers are drawn at random. The holder(s) of the winning ticket(s) receive the prize(s).
How to Calculate Your Chance of Winning a Raffle?
The following steps outline how to calculate your chance of winning in a raffle.
- First, determine the total number of tickets in the drawing (typically the number sold/issued).
- Next, determine the number of tickets you own.
- If there is exactly one winning ticket (one prize), use the formula: (Tickets Purchased / Total Tickets) * 100.
- If there are multiple prizes/winners, use the Multiple Prizes tab in the calculator above (the probability is not simply Tickets Purchased / Total Tickets).
- After inserting the variables and calculating the result, check your answer with the calculator above.
