How it works
The calculator uses the number of guests and the party length to estimate total ice. Guest count is rounded down to a whole person, and negative values are treated as zero.
Example calculation
For 25 guests and a 5-hour party, the extra time beyond 4 hours is 1 hour. Ice per guest is 2 + 0.5 × 1 = 2.5 pounds, so total ice is 25 × 2.5 = 62.5 pounds, which rounds up to 7 10-pound bags.
