Enter the initial production (units/hr) and the current production (units/hr) into the Learning Rate Calculator. The calculator will evaluate the Learning Rate.

Learning Rate Formula

The following two example problems outline the steps and information needed to calculate the Learning Rate.

LR = (CP-IP) / IP * 100
  • Where LR is the Learning Rate (%)
  • IP is the initial production (units/hr)
  • CP is the current production (units/hr)

To calculate the learning rate, divide the change in production by the initial produce, then multiply by 100.

How to Calculate Learning Rate?

The following example problems outline how to calculate Learning Rate.

Example Problem #1:

  1. First, determine the initial production (units/hr).
    • The initial production (units/hr) is given as: 40.
  2. Next, determine the current production (units/hr).
    • The current production (units/hr) is provided as: 100.
  3. Finally, calculate the Learning Rate using the equation above:

LR = (CP-IP) / IP * 100

The values provided above are inserted into the equation below and computed.

LR = (100-40) / 40 * 100 = 150.00 (%)

Example Problem #2:

For this problem, the variables required are provided below:

initial production (units/hr) = 60

current production (units/hr) = 30

Test your knowledge using the equation and check your answer with the calculator..

LR = (CP-IP) / IP * 100 = ?
