FAQ
What are net mineral acres?
Net mineral acres are the mineral acres you actually own after applying your ownership percentage. If a tract has 100 total mineral acres and you own 25%, you own 25 net mineral acres.
Are net mineral acres the same as royalty acres?
No. Net mineral acres measure mineral ownership in acres. Royalty acres usually include the royalty rate from an oil and gas lease. A person can own net mineral acres, but the royalty value depends on lease terms.
Can percentage owned be more than 100%?
For a single tract, percentage owned normally should not be more than 100%. If your result is over 100%, check that the total mineral acres and net mineral acres refer to the same tract and that the units match.
