What Does โPennies to Dollarsโ Mean?
Here, pennies to dollars means a face-value conversion: one US cent is $0.01, so 100 pennies equal $1.00. This calculator does not project savings or investment returns, or estimate collectible or metal value. Whole pennies and dollar amounts representing whole cents are required; extra trailing zeros are accepted without changing value. Weight uses the selected nominal composition: 2.5 g copper-plated zinc or 3.11 g copper alloy. Both compositions occur in 1982, and earlier dates have exceptions such as 1943 steel cents. See the US Mint coin specifications. Weight estimates exclude wrappers.
