The following formula is used to calculate the placement ratio for a given number of students placed and the total number of students.
Variables:
- PR is the placement ratio
- SP is the number of students placed
- TS is the total number of students
To calculate the placement ratio, divide the number of students placed by the total number of students. Multiply the result by 100 to express it as a percentage.
What is a Placement Ratio?
The placement ratio is a metric used to determine the percentage of students who have been successfully placed in jobs or internships out of the total number of students. This ratio is often used by educational institutions to measure the effectiveness of their placement programs and to provide insights into the employability of their graduates. Compare ratios only when cohort eligibility, placement definitions, reporting dates and missing-outcome treatment agree. The ratio alone does not establish educational quality and is not the standardized NACE career outcomes rate.
How to Calculate Placement Ratio?
The following steps outline how to calculate the Placement Ratio.
- First, determine the number of students placed (SP).
- Next, determine the total number of students (TS).
- Next, calculate the placement ratio using the formula PR = (SP / TS) * 100.
