Enter the power produced by the propeller and the applied power into the calculator to determine the Propeller Efficiency.

## Propeller Efficiency Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Propeller Efficiency.

Eprop = PP / AP * 100

• Where Eprop is the Propeller Efficiency (%)
• PP is the power produced by the propeller
• AP is the applied power

## How to Calculate Propeller Efficiency?

The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Propeller Efficiency.

Example Problem #1:

1. First, determine the power produced by propeller. In this example, the power produced by propeller is given as 45.
2. Next, determine the applied power. For this problem, the applied power is given as 80.
3. Finally, calculate the Propeller Efficiency using the equation above:

Eprop = PP / AP * 100

Inserting the values from above and solving the equation:

Eprop = 45 / 80 * 100 = 56.25 (%)

Example Problem #2:

Using the same process as above, first define the variables required by the formula. In this case, these values are:

power produced by propeller = 83

applied power = 105

Entering these values yields:

Eprop = 83/105 * 100 = 79.04 (%)
