Finished Arrow Weight Formula
A complete arrow combines the estimated shaft mass with point or broadhead, insert or outsert, nock, total fletching, wrap, collar, and other installed mass.
How the Calculation Works
For an algebraic solve mode, the selected target input is hidden, marked unavailable to assistive technology, disabled, cleared, and made non-required. Conditional workflows show only the values needed for that choice.
How to Use This Calculator

Worked Example
A 29-inch shaft at 8.7 GPI contributes 252.3 grains. Adding 125, 16, 9, 18, and 7 grains of components gives 427.3 grains total.

Interpreting the Result
The breakdown makes it easy to see whether mass is in the shaft or components and to compare build changes before assembly.
Assumptions and Limitations
The GPI method assumes a straight constant-GPI shaft. Directly weigh a tapered or barreled shaft, and always follow minimum arrow-weight and component-compatibility rules for the actual bow.
