The calculator uses body weight, typing time, and a typing factor to calculate calories burned while typing.
C = BW \cdot T \cdot F
Variables:
- C = calories burned
- BW = body weight in kilograms
- T = typing time in minutes
- F = typing factor
If you enter your weight in pounds, the calculator converts it to kilograms automatically. Basic mode uses seated typing, while advanced mode lets you switch to standing desk typing.

How to Calculate Calories Burned Typing

Example
A person who weighs 160 lb and types for 120 minutes burns about 198 calories with seated typing. If that same session is done at a standing desk, the total rises to about 274 calories.
