Calculate a sufficient points target that puts your football team strictly above every entered rival’s maximum final total. The result also shows how many wins would secure that target under your league’s points system.

Enter your team’s points and remaining games, then one challenger per line.

Uses a strict points lead over every rival’s independent maximum. It gives a sufficient guarantee; fixtures, point deductions and tie-breakers are excluded.

Configuration default: 3 points.

Configuration default: 1 point; the maximum assumes rivals win every match.

Example: Team A | 65 | 5. Include every team that can still challenge.

Strict title-guarantee calculation

For rival i, maximum points Mᵢ = Pᵢ + RᵢW, where Pᵢ is current points, Rᵢ is matches remaining and W is points per win. The strict target is max(Mᵢ) + 1.

Additional points = max(0, strict target − your points). Wins sufficient = ceiling(additional points / W), assuming your other remaining games earn zero points. Win and draw points are configurable; the default is 3 and 1.

Example

Your team has 70 points and five matches left. A rival has 65 points and five left. With three points per win, that rival can reach 80, so a strict target is 81. You need 11 more points; four wins supply 12 and are sufficient.

Frequently asked questions

Is a tie on points enough?

This tool never assumes so. It requires a strictly larger point total and therefore excludes goal-difference and other tie-break rules.

Why might the target be conservative?

Each rival is independently assumed to win all remaining games. Shared fixtures can make those maxima mutually impossible. Exact fixture-aware clinching needs the remaining schedule and competition rules.

What does an unreachable target mean?

Your team cannot reach this sufficient bound by winning all its remaining games. It can still win the league if rivals drop points; the result is not a prediction or a declaration of elimination.
