Happiness Index Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Happiness Index. 

HI = (L + W + H + R + S) / 5

Variables:

  • HI is the Happiness Index
  • L is the level of life satisfaction (on a scale of 1-10)
  • W is the level of work satisfaction (on a scale of 1-10)
  • H is the level of health satisfaction (on a scale of 1-10)
  • R is the level of relationship satisfaction (on a scale of 1-10)
  • S is the level of self-esteem (on a scale of 1-10)

To calculate the Happiness Index, add the level of life satisfaction, work satisfaction, health satisfaction, relationship satisfaction, and self-esteem. Then, divide the total by 5. This will give you a number between 1 and 10, which represents the overall happiness index.
