Hatch rate uses all eggs set as the denominator. Hatchability of fertile eggs uses only fertile eggs; fertility rate is fertile eggs divided by eggs set. The adjusted mode estimates fertile eggs as eggs set×fertility percentage/100. Compare rates only when their denominators match.

To calculate the hatch rate of a chicken, divide the number of eggs hatched by the number of eggs in the incubator, then multiply by 100.
