The following equation is used by the calculator above to determine the hydro static pressure acting on an object submerged in a fluid.

hp = ρ * g * h + p0

  • Where hp is the hydro static pressure
  • ρ is the density of the fluid
  • g is the acceleration due to gravity (9.8 m/s^2 on earth)
  • h is the depth
  • and P0 is the atmospheric pressure. (101325 pascals)
