Reach Advantage Formula or Method
Reach advantage is the signed difference between like-for-like reach measurements. In the expanded mode, the calculator also subtracts height from reach and divides reach by height for each fighter.

Worked Example
A fighter with a 76 in reach compared with a 74 in opponent reach has a 2 in reach advantage. At 72 in tall, the first fighter’s ape index is +4 in.

Published reach measurements can use inconsistent methods. Reach alone does not measure usable range, stance, timing, speed, tactics, or likely fight outcome.
