Enter the shed length (ft), the shed height (ft), and the shed width (ft) into the Shed Weight Calculator. The calculator will evaluate the Shed Weight.

Shed Weight Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Shed Weight.

SW = SL * SH * SW * 2

Variables:

  • SW is the Shed Weight (estimated weight in pounds)
  • SL is the shed length (ft)
  • SH is the shed height (ft)
  • SW is the shed width (ft)

To calculate shed weight, multiply the length, height, and width, then multiply again by 2.

How to Calculate Shed Weight?

The following two example problems outline the steps and information needed to calculate the Shed Weight.

Example Problem #1

  1. First, determine the shed length (ft).
    • The shed length (ft) is calculated to be : 10.
  2. Next, determine the shed height (ft).
    • The shed height (ft) is measured to be: 12.
  3. Next, determine the shed width (ft).
    • The shed width (ft) is found to be: 8.
  4. Finally, calculate the Shed Weight using the formula above:

SW = SL * SH * SW * 2

The values provided above are inserted into the equation below and computed.

SW = 10 * 12 * 8 * 2 = 1,920.00 (estimated weight in pounds)

Example Problem #2

The variables required for this problem are provided below:

shed length (ft) = 12

shed height (ft) = 12

shed width (ft) = 8

Test your knowledge and check your answer with the calculator.

SW = SL * SH * SW * 2 = (estimated weight in pounds)
