Significant Strike Accuracy Formula or Method
Significant-strike accuracy is landed significant strikes divided by attempted significant strikes, multiplied by 100. Use counts from the same fighter, sample and data definition. Attempts must be positive; zero attempts gives an undefined percentage, not 0% accuracy.
How the Calculation Works
For landed strikes, multiply accuracy (%) by attempts and divide by 100. For attempts, divide landed strikes by accuracy (%) and multiply by 100. Reverse results are rounded to the nearest whole strike. At 0% accuracy, zero landed strikes does not determine a unique attempt count; positive landed strikes is inconsistent. Positive accuracy with zero landed strikes cannot produce a positive attempt count.

Worked Example
Landing 45 of 100 tracked significant-strike attempts produces 45% accuracy and 55 attempts not credited as landed. The remainder does not distinguish misses from blocked attempts.

Interpreting the Result
Compare results only when the ruleset, tracking definitions and sample boundaries are consistent. For a combined sample, add the landed and attempted counts before dividing; an unweighted average of percentages can give a different answer.
Assumptions and Limitations
In UFC statistics, significant strikes include distance strikes and power strikes in the clinch or on the ground. Other providers may classify strikes differently. Accuracy is descriptive, not a complete measure of striking performance: target, position, opponent, impact and sample size also matter. This tool does not calculate expected or weighted accuracy.
