Tibia Length to Height Formula
The following is the historical US White male reference equation used by the calculator. Other selected equations have different coefficients and measurement/population requirements:

- H is the estimated height (cm)
- TL is the tibia length (cm)
For the historical male reference, multiply tibia length in cm by 2.42 and add 81.93 cm. The female reference uses 2.90 × TL + 61.53. Their source standard errors of estimate are 4.00 cm and 3.66 cm, respectively; an estimate ±1 SEE is not a guaranteed individual range or a 95% confidence/prediction interval. The Romanian equation 3.3 × TL + 45.708 comes from 137 deceased adults ages 22–91 in northeast Romania, with left tibia measured from the uppermost proximal plateau to the lowest internal malleolus; observed tibia lengths were 30.05–47.10 cm. The 3.26 × TL + 30.8 segmental equation is associated with Stevenson's children-with-cerebral-palsy reference through age 12, not all children. Custom coefficients and any entered margin require their own appropriate source. Algebraic inversion is not a separately validated tibia-prediction model.

What is Tibia Length?
The tibia, or shinbone, is the larger of the two lower-leg bones. Tibial measurements are not interchangeable across dry-bone, cadaver and living segmental protocols. Historical adult literature discusses inconsistent tibial endpoint conventions; confirm the original study definition instead of assuming a generic maximum dry-bone or surface knee-to-ankle tape measurement is compatible. The Romanian preset uses its cadaver-study left-tibia landmarks, and the cerebral-palsy child preset requires its segmental protocol. Follow the measurement definition and population requirements of the selected equation.
How to Calculate Height from Tibia Length?
