Voltage Efficiency Formula
The following formula is used to calculate the Voltage Efficiency.
Ev = OV / IV * 100
- Where Ev is the Voltage Efficiency (%)
- OV is the output voltage
- IV is the input voltage
How to Calculate Voltage Efficiency?
The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Voltage Efficiency.
Example Problem #1:
- First, determine the output voltage. In this example, the output voltage is given as 75.
- Next, determine the input voltage. For this problem, the input voltage is given as 90.
- Finally, calculate the Voltage Efficiency using the equation above:
Ev = OV / IV * 100
Inserting the values from above and solving the equation:
Ev = 75/ 90 * 100 = 83.33 (%)
Example Problem #2:
Using the same process as above, first define the variables required by the formula. In this case, these values are:
output voltage = 52
input voltage = 64
Entering these values yields:
Ev = 52 / 64 * 100 = 81.25 (%)
