Calculate betting unit profit from your inputs, with a result breakdown and worked steps.
Betting Unit Profit Formula and Method
Net profit = net units × value per unit
A betting unit is a user-defined amount of cash. Multiply net units won or lost by the value of one unit to translate a record into money. Conversely, divide cash profit by unit value to express a cash result in units. Negative totals represent a loss.
How to Use This Calculator
Select the result and any applicable method before entering the visible values. The selected unknown is calculated from the remaining quantities; change Solve for to rearrange the relationship. Review the primary result and its breakdown, then open the calculation steps to see how the inputs were used.
Worked Example
With the example inputs in the table, the result is 100 USD. Positive net units are profit and negative net units are a loss.
Input and Example Guide
| Input or category | Example or weight | Entry guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Money unit | U.S. dollars (USD) | Choose the convention that applies to your record. |
| Net result (betting units) | 5 | Use the stated unit; retain available precision. |
| Value of one betting unit (selected currency) | 20 | Use the stated unit; retain available precision. |
Interpreting the Result
One constant unit size must apply across the entered record. If the unit value changed during the period, multiplying total units by the latest value can misstate actual profit. Sum cash results at their original unit values instead. Zero net units cannot identify an unknown unit size from zero profit.
This assumes a constant cash value per unit over the recorded period. A changing unit size requires summing ticket-level cash results.
Assumptions and Common Input Errors
Positive net units are profit and negative net units are a loss. Keep the same currency and settlement conditions throughout a scenario. Displayed currency amounts are rounded to two decimals; calculations retain precision unless cent allocation is explicitly described.
Saving and Revising a Scenario
A successful calculation is saved in this browser and can be restored on the next visit. Editing an input clears the old result so it is not mistaken for an updated calculation. Reset returns the example inputs and clears the saved result.
