- CPR: cost per result, in your chosen currency
- Spend: total amount paid to the platform
- Results: count of the optimization event you are paying for (clicks, leads, installs, purchases, etc.)
- Target CPR: the maximum cost per result you are willing to accept
- Budget: the money available or required for the campaign
The Calculate CPR mode divides spend by results and, if you enter a max acceptable CPR, flags the result as on or over target. Plan budget multiplies how many results you want by the price you are willing to pay for each. Forecast results divides your available budget by the CPR you expect, giving the volume that budget should buy.

Example Problems
Example 1: Calculate CPR. You spent $640 on a Facebook campaign and recorded 178 leads. Cost per result = 640 ÷ 178 = $3.60. If your max acceptable CPR is $4.00, you are about 10% under target.
Example 2: Plan a budget. You need 250 app installs and your target CPR is $2.75. Required budget = 250 × 2.75 = $687.50. Add a 10% to 15% buffer for the learning phase if the campaign is new.
FAQ
What counts as a "result"? Whatever optimization event you selected on the ad platform. On Meta it is shown in the Results column. It could be a click, a lead, a purchase, or a video view.
Is cost per result the same as CPA? Not always. CPA (cost per acquisition) usually refers to a purchase or signup. CPR is broader and matches whichever event the campaign is optimizing for.
How do I set a realistic target CPR? Work backward from revenue. Take the average value of a result, multiply by your target margin, and use that as the maximum you can pay while staying profitable.
Why does my CPR jump day to day? Small result counts produce noisy averages. Wait until you have at least 30 to 50 results before judging performance.
