Enter the distance from tip to tip of your outstretched arms (wingspan) into the calculator to determine the correct length of pull.

Length of Pull Formula

The following equation is used to calculate the Length of Pull.

LoP = (WS-15) / 2
  • Where LoP is the length of pull (in)
  • WS is your wing span (in)

To calculate a length of pull subtract 15 inches from your wingspan, than divide by two.

What is a Length of Pull?

Definition:

A length of a pull is a measure of the distance a hunter should pull back their bow from it’s standard position before releasing.

How to Calculate Length of Pull?

Example Problem:

The following example outlines the steps and information needed to calculate Length of Pull.

First, measure your wingspan. In this example, the wingspan of the person is 60 inches.

Next, the final and last step is to measure the length of pull using the formula above:

LoP = (WS-15) / 2

LoP = (60-15) / 2

LoP = 22.5 inches
