Months of Service Formula
The following formula is used to calculate the months of service between two dates.
M = (Y_e - Y_s) * 12 + (M_e - M_s)
Variables:
- M is the months of service
- Y_e is the end year
- Y_s is the start year
- M_e is the end month
- M_s is the start month
To calculate the months of service, subtract the start year from the end year and multiply the result by 12. Then, subtract the start month from the end month and add the result to the previous calculation.
