Calculate Stableford points for a single hole or scorecard using scratch or net scoring, automatic stroke allocation, and pickup support.
How the Stableford Points Calculator Works
Stableford converts each hole into points instead of simply adding strokes. In net mode, the calculator allocates the final Playing Handicap by stroke index, subtracts those strokes from the gross score, and compares the net score with the fixed target of par.
Formula: Net score = gross score – handicap strokes; points = clamp(2 – (net score – par), 0, 6)
Choosing the Right Inputs
Use the final Playing Handicap after any competition allowance. Enter each hole’s par and stroke index from the card. A dash represents a pickup or no score and correctly produces zero points without forcing an invented gross score.
| Net result | Points | Example on par 4 |
|---|---|---|
| More than one over or no score | 0 | 6+ or pickup |
| One over | 1 | 5 |
| Par | 2 | 4 |
| One under | 3 | 3 |
| Two under | 4 | 2 |
| Three under | 5 | 1 |
| Four under | 6 | Possible only with a sufficiently low net score |
Understanding Your Results
The total appears first, followed by completed holes, average points, a point-distribution summary, and a hole ledger showing gross score, strokes received or given, net score, and points.
Worked Example
A golfer with Playing Handicap 18 receives one stroke on every hole. Gross scores of 5, 4, and 7 on par 4, par 4, and par 5 become net 4, 3, and 6, worth 2, 3, and 1 points for a six-point total.
Assumptions and Limitations
Competitions may set a fixed target other than par or use special terms. This calculator uses the standard Rule 21.1 schedule and expects the Playing Handicap, not the unrestricted Course Handicap.
