What is a Bushel?

A bushel is a unit of volume used in the United States for measuring agricultural products such as grains, fruits, and vegetables. One US bushel equals 8 US dry gallons (32 US dry quarts), which is 2150.42 in³ (about 35.239 L). In agriculture, bushels are often converted to weight using a commodity’s standard “test weight” (lb per bushel), so the weight of a “bushel” varies by crop.
