Enter the total number of people and the total hours spent in the building into the calculator to determine how much water delivery you should order each month.

Water Delivery Formula

The following formula is used to calculate how many gallons of water you need delivered per month.

W = (64*(H/16))*P / 128 *30
  • Where W is the amount of water needed per month (gallons)
  • H is the number of hours the people work or are in the building per day.
  • #P are the total number of people in the building

To calculate how much water you need per day, multiply the hours worked per day divided by 16 by 64, then multiply the result by the number of people divided by 128.

How much water do I need delivered?

The average person drink 64 ounces, or 1/2 gallon of water per day. If people are in a work or building on average for 8 hours of the waking day, that would mean that you should provide each person with 32 ounces of water per day at minimum.

How to calculate water delivery amount?

Example Problem:

The following example outlines how to calculate the amount of water a company should have delivered.

First, determine the average amount of time each person spends in the building. In this case, the standard 8 hour work day is used.

Next, determine the total number of people you need to provide water for. For this example, there are 20 people that need water.

Finally, calculate the total gallons of water to have delivered per month using the formula above:

W = (64*(H/16))*#P / 128 *30

W = (64*(8/16))*20 / 128 *30

W = 150 gallons per month
