Auction Cost Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Auction Cost. 

AUC = SP * AF/100
  • Where AUC is the Auction Cost ($)
  • SO is the total auction sell price ($) 
  • AF is the auction fee (%) 

To calculate auction cost, multiply the sell price by the auction fee percentage over 100.

How to Calculate Auction Cost?

The following example problems outline how to calculate Auction Cost.

Example Problem #1:

  1. First, determine the total auction sell price ($). The total auction sell price ($) is given as 400.
  2. Next, determine the auction fee (%). The auction fee (%) is provided as 20.
  3. Finally, calculate the Auction Cost using the equation above: 

AUC = SP * AF/100

The values given above are inserted into the equation below:

AUC = 400 * 20/100 = 80 ($)

Example Problem #2: 

The variables needed for this problem are provided below:

total auction sell price ($) = 600

auction fee (%) = 10

Entering these values and solving gives:
