The following formula applies to continuous usage for 30 days. For other schedules, replace 720 with actual monthly usage hours:
- Where CPM is the cost per month ($/month)
- And CPH is the cost per hour ($/hr)
Monthly cost = hourly rate × monthly usage hours; the inverse is hourly rate = monthly cost ÷ monthly usage hours. Select the unknown explicitly. Blank usage uses 720 (30 × 24), while labor and partial-use estimates should use actual billable hours.

What is cost per hour to cost per month conversion?
This constant-rate conversion estimates usage cost. The 720-hour default describes continuous operation for 30 days, not a normal labor schedule or every calendar month. It does not calculate overtime, payroll taxes, benefits or billing fees.

How to calculate cost per month from a given cost per hour?
Suppose a service charges $10 per hour and runs continuously for 30 days (720 hours). Multiply $10 by 720. At 160 billable hours instead, the same rate gives $1,600.
Cost per Month = $10 * 720 = $7200 per month.
