Enter the total assets ($) and the total spending needs in retirement ($) into the Funded Ratio Calculator. The calculator will evaluate and display the Funded Ratio.

Funded Ratio Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Funded Ratio.

FNDR = A / SN *100
  • Where FNDR is the Funded Ratio (%)
  • A is the total assets ($)
  • SN is the total spending needs in retirement ($)

To calculate the funded ratio, divide the total assets by the total spending needs in retirement.

How to Calculate Funded Ratio?

The following example problems outline how to calculate Funded Ratio.

Example Problem #1:

  1. First, determine the total assets ($).
    • The total assets ($) is given as: 1,000,000.
  2. Next, determine the total spending needs in retirement ($).
    • The total spending needs in retirement ($) is provided as: 150,000.
  3. Finally, calculate the Funded Ratio using the equation above:

FNDR = A / SN * 100

The values given above are inserted into the equation below and the solution is calculated:

FNDR = 1,000,000 / 150,000 * 100 = 666.67 (%)

Example Problem #2:

For this problem, the variables required are provided below:

total assets ($) = 600,000

total spending needs in retirement ($) = 50,000

Test your knowledge using the equation and check your answer with the calculator above.FNDR = A / SN * 100 = ?
