Hectares Per Hour Formula
Measured area/time mode uses completed area divided by total elapsed in-field time. The theoretical width/speed capacity cannot be inferred from area and time alone.
Variables:
- HPH is the Hectares Per Hour (hectares/hr)
- H is the total land mowed (hectares)
- T is the total time (minutes)
To calculate measured hectares per hour, divide completed hectares by total elapsed in-field minutes, then multiply by 60. For equipment, theoretical ha/h = full width in meters × speed in km/h ÷ 10. Standard overall field efficiency includes overlap and in-field delays. Alternatively, select Separate time efficiency and overlap: multiply theoretical capacity by time-only efficiency and (1 − overlap share). Do not deduct overlap twice or use an already-net width with another overlap deduction. Field time equals area divided by effective capacity; fuel and cost rates must use the same elapsed-time basis.
How to Calculate Hectares Per Hour?
The following steps outline how to calculate the Hectares Per Hour.
- First, determine the total land mowed (hectares).
- Next, determine the total time (minutes).
- Next, gather the formula from above = HPH = H / T *60.
- Finally, calculate the Hectares Per Hour.
- After inserting the variables and calculating the result, check your answer with the calculator above.
Example Problem :
Use the following variables as an example problem to test your knowledge.
total land mowed (hectares) = 3
total time (minutes) = 20
HPH = 3 / 20 × 60 = 9 ha/h. Available field hours per day must be positive and at most 24 for one machine. Fractional equivalent working days are not a calendar schedule; weather, travel and major repairs require separate planning.
