Jewelry Resale Value Formula
The calculator first estimates the intrinsic value of the precious metal and any separately estimated gemstones:
M = W * P * S I = M + G
It then applies design, condition, demand, and selling-channel adjustments before subtracting selling costs:

M = 12 * 0.585 * 75 = $526.50. I = 526.50 + 600 = $1,126.50. V = 1126.50 * 1.20 = $1,351.80.
Using a direct-sale factor of 0.82 and a 10% fee, estimated net proceeds are 1351.80 * 0.82 * 0.90 = $997.63.
Example 2: You want $1,500 after a 12% selling fee and $50 of fixed costs.
Required gross sale price = (1500 + 50) / (1 – 0.12) = $1,761.36. At a 0.68 marketplace channel factor, the implied open-market value is $2,590.24.
