This calculator treats one-rep max, training load, and percentage as three sides of one relationship. Choose the missing value instead of leaving fields blank, which keeps the required inputs clear and prevents an accidental calculation from stale numbers.

Percentage of 1RM Formula
Formula: Training load = 1RM × percentage / 100
The equation reverses to 1RM = training load ÷ (percentage / 100) and percentage = training load ÷ 1RM × 100. These are exact arithmetic rearrangements; the uncertainty lies in whether the entered 1RM accurately represents current performance.

Understanding Your Results
The requested value appears first. Load mode follows it with the raw result, rounding difference, and every selected chart row. Reverse modes show the two known quantities and an equation check so a unit or decimal mistake is easier to spot.
A percentage describes external load relative to the entered maximum; it does not guarantee a particular repetition count. Rep capacity varies by exercise, athlete, tempo, fatigue, and proximity to failure.
Worked Example
An entered 315 lb max at 82.5% gives 259.875 lb. Rounding to the nearest 5 lb produces a usable 260 lb load, a difference of only 0.125 lb from the raw calculation.
Common Mistakes
Do not enter 0.825 when the field asks for 82.5%, mix the units of the maximum and training load, or round the 1RM before applying the percentage. Calculate first and round the final load once.
Assumptions and Limitations
The formula is exact for the supplied values, but a tested or estimated maximum can change from day to day. Loads above 100% exceed the entered full-range 1RM and should not be interpreted as an ordinary full-range repetition prescription.
