How the Push Press To Strict Press Calculator Works
The tool learns strict-press divided by push-press performance from one personal pair. It then estimates a strict press from a push press or reverses the same relationship for a target.
The technique confirmations matter because leg drive distinguishes the movements. A strict press uses no knee dip or hip drive; a push press uses a dip-drive and finishes without the re-dip used in jerk receiving positions.
Push-Press to Strict-Press Formula
Formula: factor = paired strict press / paired push press; estimated strict press = push press x factor; required push press = strict target / factor
The factor is unitless and works in pounds or kilograms when every load uses the same unit. User-entered interval endpoints provide a range without implying an invented confidence interval.
Choosing Comparable Inputs
Use tested 1RMs or the same 2-to-10-rep maximum for both movements and the converted load. Preserve bar start, lockout, range, and the stated leg-action standards.

Understanding Your Results
The estimate leads, followed by the raw and rounded load, optional interval, factor, personal pair, performance basis, technique confirmations, and absolute and percentage difference.
The result is most useful for tracking one lifter under stable technique. A change in dip depth, bar start, strictness, or receiving action changes the movement being compared.
Worked Example
A 100 lb push press paired with an 80 lb strict press yields 0.8000. Applying that factor to a 110 lb push press estimates an 88 lb strict press.
Common Mistakes
Do not substitute push jerk or split jerk performance, accept knee assistance in the strict press, mix rep counts, or preload a generic population factor.
Assumptions and Limitations
Related push-press research establishes meaningful lower-body contribution but does not supply a direct strict-press ratio. The estimate therefore requires a personal pair or a deliberate manual factor.
