Track Lane Stagger Formula or Method
The calculator uses the published standard 400 m track marking-plan offsets rather than recomputing rounded survey marks from nominal lane width.
How the Calculation Works

Interpreting the Result
The stagger is the forward start offset relative to lane 1, not the length of the lane or the race. Lane 1 has a reference offset of zero. For lanes 2 through 8, the preceding-lane offset is the difference between adjacent published marks; for lane 1 it is not applicable.
