Bead Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the total number of beads needed for a bracelet. 

B = BRL*10 / (BW)
  • Where B is the is the number of beads
  • BRL is the bracelet length (cm)
  • BW is the bead width (mm)

To calculate the number of beads, multiply the bracelet length by 10, then divide by the bead width.

How many beads do i need for a bracelet?

Example Problem:

The following example outlines how to calculate the number of beads needed to make a bracelet.

First, determine the length of the bracelet. For this example, the bracelet is 40 cm long.

Next, measure the width of the beads being used for the bracelet. In this case, the beads are 6 mm wide.

Finally, calculate the number of beads needed using the formula above:

B = BRL*10 / (BW)

B = 40*10 / 6

B = 66.66 beads
