Estimate calories burned on a curved treadmill from your body weight, walking or running speed and workout time, or find how long to burn a calorie goal.
How the Curved Treadmill Calorie Calculator Works
The calculator maps the selected documented curved-treadmill pace band to its 2024 Compendium activity value and applies the standard MET equation. Exact speed is optional and changes only the distance estimate.
Formula: gross kcal = curved-treadmill MET x 3.5 x body weight in kg / 200 x minutes
What the Results Show
Results include gross calories, estimated energy above a standardized 1-MET baseline, hourly rate, MET-minutes, the selected pace band, duration, and optional distance. The duration inverse uses a gross calorie target. Both modes support up to 120 minutes as an input limit, not a recommended workout duration.
Why This Calculator Is Different
It uses current curved-treadmill-specific activity codes instead of multiplying an ordinary treadmill estimate by a fixed marketing percentage.
Assumptions and Limitations
The 2024 table has no curved-running code for 6.0 through 6.9 mph, so that band is deliberately absent. No interpolation is applied. The Compendium provides population estimates rather than precise individual energy costs. Technique, fitness, resting metabolism and treadmill design affect actual expenditure. Subtracting 1 MET estimates energy above a conventional resting baseline, not measured individual resting energy.
