Estimate Concept2-compatible rowing calories from watts, 500 m split, or PM Calories/hour, or solve for the time needed to reach a calorie target.
How the Rowing Machine Calorie Calculator Works
The calculator accepts the three performance inputs supported by the Concept2 equations, converts them to watts and PM calorie rate, and applies the official body-weight adjustment before multiplying by time.
Formula: PM kcal/hour = 300 + 4 x watts / 1.1639; adjusted kcal/hour = PM kcal/hour – 300 + 1.714 x body weight in pounds
What the Results Show
The primary result is adjusted calories or target duration. Supporting results include PM-display calories, active calories, watts, split, distance, and mechanical work.
Why This Calculator Is Different
This is the Concept2-compatible rowing workflow. WaterRower monitor data uses a separate MET-bracket calculator because the flywheel calibration is not interchangeable.
Assumptions and Limitations
Performance-monitor formulas estimate energy from machine output. Technique, drag setting, calibration, and individual physiology can cause differences from measured metabolism.
