Find your figure skate size from your foot length in mm, cm or inches, using Riedell’s Youth/Junior, Ladies’ and Men’s size charts as a starting point.
Riedell Figure-Skate Size Chart Method
The official chart lists heel-to-longest-toe measurement marks. This calculator uses the published millimeter marks and, as its own lookup policy, selects the first mark at or above an unrounded measurement between marks. Riedell does not designate these marks as maximum fit limits or require this rounding-up policy.
How the Calculation Works
Measure both feet and enter the longer bare-foot length. One inch is25.4 mm. The guide’s rounded inch and millimeter columns can differ at boundaries: Ladies6 lists9½ inches and241 mm, while exact conversion of9½ inches is241.3 mm and maps to6.5 under this calculator’s millimeter policy. Prefer measuring directly in millimeters.

Input and Result Guide
| Item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Longer foot | Measure heel to longest toe on both feet and use the longer result. |
| Category | Choose the applicable Riedell Youth/Junior, Ladies, or Men's figure-skate chart. |
| Between marks | Select the first chart threshold at or above the measurement. |
| Width | Measure ball circumference as directed by the manufacturer; length alone cannot select width. |
| Hockey skates | Use the separate Hockey Skate Size Calculator and the specific hockey brand chart. |
Interpreting the Result
The result is a Riedell chart starting size, not a universal figure-skate size. Boot model, width, foot shape, padding, and skill requirements affect the final fit.
Assumptions and Limitations
The calculator does not extrapolate below or above the selected chart and does not infer width. Riedell advises fitting by an authorized dealer and warns against choosing figure boots from street-shoe size alone.
Common Questions
Why is this a starting recommendation?
Equipment fit varies by model, construction, conditions, and personal preference. The result narrows the search; it does not replace the exact product chart or a professional fitting.
Will my last successful calculation be restored?
Yes. The calculator saves enabled source values and the successful result in this browser. Reset clears that saved state.
