Standings points = W × win points + D × draw points + L × loss points
Read the record from one side’s perspective, using wins, losses and draws in that order. Enter scoring for and against over those same encounters. Standings points use the win, draw and loss weights you supply; they are separate from the match-score differential.

A 3–1–2 record contains six meetings and three outright wins, regardless of the standings-point scheme. Some competitions compare head-to-head points before goal difference, while others use a different order or a mini-league. This summary presents the evidence without claiming to resolve those official rules.
