Calculate lacrosse clear percentage from successful and failed clears, or estimate either count from the other count and rate.
Lacrosse Clear Percentage Formula
Clear percentage is successful clears divided by all clear attempts, where total attempts equal successful plus failed clears.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator uses the displayed relationship directly. Selecting another solve option rearranges that relationship and hides the requested output field, leaving only required source inputs visible.
How to Use This Calculator
- Select the result you want in the Solve for menu.
- Enter only the visible source values from one consistent sample.
- Select Calculate and review the primary answer, supporting values, and substituted steps.
- Use Reset before starting a different sample.
Worked Example
A team with 27 successful clears and 3 failed clears completed 27 of 30 attempts. Its clear percentage is 90.00%, or .900 in three-decimal stat form.
Input and Result Guide
| Item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Successful clears | Whole-number clears recorded as successful in the selected sample. |
| Failed clears | Whole-number unsuccessful clear attempts from that same sample. |
| Clear percentage | Successful clears divided by successful plus failed clears. |
| Sample consistency | Keep the team, competition, reporting period, and statistics provider consistent. |
Interpreting the Result
Compare results only when scope, competition, period and statistics definition are consistent. Inverse results use the entered rate as exact; a fractional answer is an algebraic estimate, not a possible recorded count. Rounded reported percentages may fit several different stat lines. Empty samples have no defined percentage, and endpoint inverse cases may be impossible or nonunique.
Assumptions and Limitations
This calculator uses recorded successful and failed clears; it does not decide whether a possession sequence qualifies as a clear attempt. Reverse-solved counts are mathematical estimates.
Common Questions
Why did a field disappear after I changed Solve for?
The hidden field is the requested output. Enter the remaining visible values and the calculator will solve for that target.
Will my last successful calculation be restored?
Yes. After a successful Calculate, it saves a structured input snapshot in this browser and recomputes the restored result. Reset clears this calculator’s saved state.
