Calculate lacrosse shooting percentage from goals and shots, or solve for goals or shots using the other value and rate.
Lacrosse Shooting Percentage Formula
Shooting percentage is goals divided by official shots, expressed as a percentage.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator uses the displayed relationship directly. Selecting another solve option rearranges that relationship and hides the requested output field, leaving only required source inputs visible.
How to Use This Calculator
- Select the result you want in the Solve for menu.
- Enter only the visible source values from one consistent sample.
- Select Calculate and review the primary answer, supporting values, and substituted steps.
- Use Reset before starting a different sample.
Worked Example
A player who scores 12 goals on 80 shots has a 15.00% shooting percentage, or .150 in three-decimal stat form.
Input and Result Guide
| Item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Goals | Whole-number goals scored in the selected sample. |
| Shots | Positive whole-number official shots from the same source and sample. |
| Shooting percentage | Goals divided by shots and multiplied by 100. |
| Constraint | In a direct stat line, goals cannot exceed official shots. |
Interpreting the Result
Compare results only when the player or team scope, competition, reporting period, and statistics definition are consistent. Keep the displayed decimal for reverse-solved estimates instead of silently forcing a whole-number stat line.
Assumptions and Limitations
Use the official shots category from one statistics provider; do not substitute shots on goal unless that is explicitly the intended denominator. Reverse-solved counts are estimates.
Common Questions
Why did a field disappear after I changed Solve for?
The hidden field is the requested output. Enter the remaining visible values and the calculator will solve for that target.
Will my last successful calculation be restored?
Yes. The calculator saves enabled source values and the successful result in this browser. Reset clears that saved state.
