Calculate lacrosse faceoff win percentage from wins and losses, or reverse the same relationship to estimate either count.
Lacrosse Faceoff Percentage Formula
Faceoff win percentage is faceoffs won divided by all decided faceoffs, expressed as a percentage.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator uses the displayed relationship directly. Selecting another solve option rearranges that relationship and hides the requested output field, leaving only required source inputs visible.
How to Use This Calculator
- Select the result you want in the Solve for menu.
- Enter only the visible source values from one consistent sample.
- Select Calculate and review the primary answer, supporting values, and substituted steps.
- Use Reset before starting a different sample.
Worked Example
A player with 33 faceoff wins and 27 losses has 60 decisions. Dividing 33 by 60 gives a 55.00% faceoff win percentage, or .550 in three-decimal stat form.
Input and Result Guide
| Item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Faceoff wins | Whole-number faceoffs credited as won in the selected sample. |
| Faceoff losses | Whole-number faceoffs credited as lost in the same sample. |
| Faceoff win percentage | Wins divided by wins plus losses; shown as both a percent and three-decimal stat form. |
| Reverse-solved count | A mathematical estimate that can be fractional; do not silently round when reconciling source statistics. |
Interpreting the Result
Compare results only when the player or team scope, competition, reporting period, and statistics definition are consistent. Keep the displayed decimal for reverse-solved estimates instead of silently forcing a whole-number stat line.
Assumptions and Limitations
Use wins and losses from the same statistics source and sample. The formula does not independently classify faceoff outcomes, and reverse-solved counts may not be whole numbers.
Common Questions
Why did a field disappear after I changed Solve for?
The hidden field is the requested output. Enter the remaining visible values and the calculator will solve for that target.
Will my last successful calculation be restored?
Yes. The calculator saves enabled source values and the successful result in this browser. Reset clears that saved state.
